One of the things some kinksters have trouble with is hiding their implements. Sure, a rolling suitcase or duffel bag is great for floggers, paddles, and other short items, but what about canes and crops? Storing them in a closet is one thing, but what if you want to take them to a party or club? How do you transport them without “scaring the ‘nillas?”

Try explaining to your kids and neighbors why you’ve got a handful of riding crops and canes when you don’t have a horse… And it’s not always practical to go hauling a huge, black rolling suitcase around when you aren’t travelling anywhere.

There are plenty of options available to the wiley kinkster who wants to stay “undercover,” so to speak, to conceal long, inflexible implements. Depending on your finances and the length of the implements you need to conceal, you can pick and choose (or come up with more options of your own).

Yoga bags are inexpensive and come in a wide variety of colors and price ranges. Some of them even have a duffel bag for your gear and an attachable yoga mat bag. The drawback is the lengths are pretty standard, and you won’t necessarily get the protection you need for your gear if you have canes or crops that are longer than the bag.

Another option is a soft-sided guitar bag (also called a “gig bag”). They are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, price ranges, and even come padded or not. (If you really want to spend money, you can get a hard case for an acoustic or electric guitar.) There are other instrument cases that can be used as well.

You can buy plastic storage tubes, such as are used for blueprints or artwork, in a wide variety of materials, colors, and price ranges. The benefit is they are hard, usually have a strap, and will give your canes and crops extra protection. Plus if you like to match your colors, you can pick whatever you like. The drawback is your gear will rattle around inside them, so use something like a washcloth or small hand towel to wrap around the implements at the top of the tube to help minimize shifting.

Similarly, you can also buy PVC pipe and end caps and make your own, if you’re a DIY kind of person.

Another idea is an archery case, or specifically a case to hold arrows. There is a wide variety of types, soft-sided and hard cases, and in a wide variety of price points.

Some people use gun cases–soft-side or hard cases–to conceal their implements. The drawback to this is if you’re carrying the items somewhere, you might get stopped by concerned law enforcement and have to show them that no, you’re not “carrying” in the gun sense of the word. (These are better used when you just need to hide your implements at home.) The good news is you can get them in a wide range of price points and types.

Or maybe fencing is more your speed? The cases tend to be a little more pricey, but you can get a decent variety in terms of shape and size.

The bottom line is, you need to think “outside the bag” and decide what to use based on your budget, needs, and personal situation.
